Description: Wormwood, with its classic silver-green foliage and nodding white flowers, true wormwood is a worthy garden plant and thrives on dry edges and full sun. This is the plant that is used for making traditional bitters, also an ingredient in absinthe and  herbal medicine as an effective vermifuge. Makes an excellent insect  repellant.

Culinary Uses: Used traditionally in vermouth or white wine.

External Uses: Wormwood is used in salves and oils to treat eczema, skin irritations, bruises, insect bites, scabies, wound healing and relieves itching.

Medicinal Properties and Uses of Wormwood: Wormwood is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and is known for reducing fevers and killing parasites in the intestines, jaundice, gallbladder inflammations, rids the body of toxins, cold and flu, food poisoning, skin problems, arthritis and as an insect repellent safe to use on pets to ward of pests, flies and fleas.

Cautions: Wormwood contains Thujone, a toxic substance and should only be taken in small doses under the advisement of a qualified herbalist.

Wormwood tea Recipe: Steep 1 tsp dried Wormwood in 1 cup water. Strain and drink.
