NATURALLY GROWN TANSY
Botanical Name: Tanacetum vulgare
Description: Tansy is a vigorous, almost invasive hardy perennial with bright yellow buttons and a strong pugnent scent found on roadsides, ditches and open fields, commonly referred to as a weed.
Culinary Uses: Used for teas for it's medicinal properties.

Medicinal Properties and Uses of Tansy: The properties of Tansy consist of; stimulant, emmenagogue, abortifacient, ant-parasite, carminative, aromatic. Tansy has been traditionally used as an insect repellant, parasites, expelling worms, kidney weakness, anxiety and abortion inducing provoking onset of period and should never be taken by pregnant Woman. Tansy is high in Thujone, a toxic chemical that can be fatal if taken in high doses and is damaging to the nervous system, even causing death if taken in extreme doses for an extended period of time. Tansy should always be taken under the advisement and direction of a trained herbalist.
Cautions: Tansy can be extremely fatal and should only be taken under the supervision and direction of a qualified herbalist. Do not take Tansy if you are pregnant.
Tansy tea Recipe: Steep 1 tsp dried Tansy in 1 cup water. Strain and drink.
