Description: Mullein is a hardy biennial growing up to 7-8' in height with yellow flower spikes and is abundant throughout North America.
Culinary Uses: Made into a cigarette, Mullein leaves help in the relief of hacking cough, respiratory mucas membranes, asthma and spasmodic coughs.
External Uses: Mullein Leaves are often made into a poultice for the relief of sunburn, tumors and ulcers.

Medicinal properties and Uses Of Mullein: There is now much scientific evidence to the value of Mullein. Mullein is highly antihistaminic, ant-inflammatory, antiviral, anticancer, estrogenic, fungicidal, sedative, and cardio-depressant, antispasmodic, astringent, emollient, expectorant, nervine and demulcent. Used as a tea, Mullein has been used in the treatment of chest complaints, diarrhea, bleeding of the lungs and bowels. Placing drops of steeped tea infusion into the ear for earaches. It is also used fot the treatment of migraines and oppressions of the ear. Mullein seeds contain saponins which are considered toxic.
Mullein Tea Recipe: Steep 1 tbs dried Mullein leaves with 1 cup water for 5-10 minutes.
