Description: Kale Red Russian (aka Ragged Jack) Originated from Siberia, brought to Canada by Russian traders around 1885. Kale Red Russian is one of the hardiest and most tender of all kales. Beautiful purple-veined blue-green leaves tinged with reddish-purple. Frilly leaf margins resemble oak leaves. Vigorous plants. Mild sweet flavor. Hardy to -10°F.
Planting: Sow Kale Red Russian seeds indoors ¼" deep. Plant out just before the last frost. Kale is most tender and delicious after a frost. Harvest can continue even after snow.
